Dr Hassan was born and raised in Michigan where she also completed her undergraduate studies. She attended optometry school at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, graduating with honors in 2012. During her time there she was a member of the BSK Honor Society, the President of the school's COVD club (College of Optometrists in Vision Development), and an active member of the Contact Lens Club. She also received the American Public Health Association Vision Section Outstanding Student Project Award for a project that educated marginalized women and children about the importance of eye health.
In 2016 Dr Hassan moved to the Bay Area and is living in San Jose with her husband and two sons.
Dr Hassan brings with her extensive experience in fitting specialty contact lenses including those for corneal irregularities as well as myopia control. Specialty contact lenses can be life changing for individuals who are unable to attain functional vision with the use of routine glasses or contacts. Myopia control lenses can help in avoiding the continuous progression of myopia and its related outcomes. Dr Hassan finds pleasure in being able to assist such patients to achieve functional vision for a better quality of life.
Dr Hassan aims to improve the quality of life of each of her patients by providing the best possible eye care and considering each patient's specific needs in work, school, or daily life.
