I have been going to IMAGE EYE CARE since 2007 so far as I can remember. They use to be inside Oakridge Mall, now it’s the TMobile store next to Michael Kors. I was very happy when they move out at Oakridge mall. I don’t have to deal with crazy parking and shoppers when I just need an optical appointment. Dr Kim Khan Nguyen is very attentive to your individual needs. My whole family see her. All the staff are nice and accommodating. We have been receiving consistent excellent service at Image Eye Care. We appreciate good business with you. They are now located at Blossom Hill Rd and Snell. I highly recommend Dr Nguyen and her staff at Image EyeCare Optometry San Jose Ca.

Daytona Optomap Eye Exams for the Whole Family

Regardless of your age or physical health, it’s important to have regular eye exams.

During a complete eye exam, your eye doctor will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.

Young Girl Child Eye Exam 1280x853 640x427

According to experts, 80% of learning is visual, which means that if your child is having difficulty seeing clearly, his or her learning can be affected.

When you make a decision about your eyewear, you are making a statement about who you are. Your decision affects your vision. Glasses, if picked appropriately, can improve your best facial features, while hiding your less desirable features.

Dr. Kim Khanh Nguyen | Answers Your Eye Care Questions

At what age should my child have his/her eyes examined?

According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at 6 months of age. Children then should receive additional eye exams at 3 years of age, and just before they enter kindergarten or the first grade at about age 5 or 6.  For school-aged children, the AOA recommends an eye exam every two years if no vision correction is required. Children who need eyeglasses or contact lenses should be examined annually or according to their eye doctor’s recommendations. School screenings are not adequate and often miss vision issues. Taking your children to an eye doctor and having an early eye exam is very important because children need the following basic visual skills for learning:

  • Near vision
  • Distance vision
  • Eye teaming (binocularity) skills
  • Eye movement skills
  • Focusing skills
  • Peripheral awareness
  • Eye/hand coordination

Because of the importance of good vision for learning, some states require an eye exam for all children entering school for the first time.
